You will see via the YouTube link to KelpandFern's page, the full journey documented.
I, Alan Bateson, set off from Chester on Monday 26th of June at 7.30am, following the Welsh Coastal Path all the way to Chepstow in 19 Days, 5 Hours, 5 Minutes and 30 Seconds, well ahead of the current FKT. Not long after arriving at Chepstow, I then set off along the Offa's Dyke Path to Prestatyn, completing the entire perimeter of Wales, which I have submitted to you seperately.
I ran 870 hard, hilly and undulating miles along the Coast Path, which proved extremely tough, as we experienced some very unseasonal weather, with high, cold winds and a lot of rain. I spent most of the evenings sleeping in a small van, with little room, sleep or recovery, but it was an unforgettable experience.
I ran most all of the Coastal Path alone, with only a handful of people join me for short sections, including Martin from KelpandFern, who has documented the entirety of this challenge. My partner Katie also supported me throughout the challenge, meeting me at various points along the way to provide food and drink.
