I wanted to give this route another shot and see if I could shave off some time by being less conservative in the beginning. I still packed a ton of stuff for the event my ankle gave out and it became a hobble festival (thankfully not). I tried to run/shuffle as much as possible, but the steep stuff I am still only able to walk. I set out after sunrise, carrying only 1 L of water for most of the time because streams are so frequent. Mostly #unfiltered. Sadly lost one of my water bottles along the way :( I'm sorry, Big Sur. Saw several cool brown newts. Wore my hideous grey 'never-have-sex-again' hat for most of the miles, very thrilling. Sadly ran out of high-GI food and bonked around mile 20, resorting to licking a few Tbsp of dry hydration mix out of a plastic bag. Overall, very fun! If I hadn't run out of food, I may have been a bit faster, but ultimately I will need to make big strides in aerobic capacity and muscle power-endurance before I can significantly improve this time. Looking forward to literally any other female on earth trying this route and setting the fkt unintentionally XD
