Set off solo unsupported from Coombe Down at 11:51 on Sat 27/12/2025. Had no idea what the conditions were going to be like but set off with the optimistic goal of chasing Leon’s impressive time and seeing how long I could hold the pace for. Conditions were mostly good with the lack of rain and cold recently meaning the ground was not too slippery and there were only a few sections of proper mud. It was a nice sunny but cold day making for good running conditions although very windy in places especially up on Landsdown where my cap was blown off my head at one point!
Followed the guidance around following the path around Englishcombe and got photos of the other 8 accessible trigs. Lost a little bit of time to slight nav errors and was a bit behind time getting to the last climb so thought the record looked unlikely but managed a last hard effort up to Bathhampton Down and then managed to put in a final sprint past lots of slightly confused looking dog-walkers for the last mile back to the bench I started at in Coombe Down taking it right to the wire having 6 seconds to spare!
