On November 28th, 2020 I completed the Cook-Aug-Dog Traverse in 2 hours, 29 minutes, and 46 seconds.

Big thanks to Will Rice, David Mitchell, and David Wonser for putting this route up!

Started at the gravel pullout on the south side of cook-underwood road. Make pretty quick work of the ascent up Cook Hill. Not much of a summit on Cook, just a little bump in the ridge. The ridge traverse from Cook to Augspurger was a real slog. Shin deep snow made for some slow going and quite hard to follow the trail. Lost quite a bit of time and quite a bit of skin off my shins in this section. Once I made it to the again uneventful summit of Augspurger, the snow started to ease up, the trail started descending, and my legs started to do the thing they love most. After the short climb up to the top of dog and spending the extra minute or so to go to the true summit, it was time for all out madness descending Dog in under 16 minutes.

A foggy and cool day, my ideal running weather. Brought 0.5L of water / Fluid mix as fuel. Exactly the kind of adventure I was looking for.
