Description

This point-to-point traverse combines the older lesson known trail of Cook Hill with one of the most popular hikes in the region in Dog Mountain. This traverse involves three summits. Cook Hill, Augspurger Mountain and Dog mountain. From Cook Hill one follows a old trail originally made by trail pioneer Russ Jolley. The seldom used trail is marked with Soup Can lids on trees. While this route is entirely on trail, one might feel that it can be more bushwacky at certain times in the year when overgrowth is at its peak.

This traverse is best done in spring or late fall when the trails are less bushy and snow free.
