Time & pace - I started at 22:53 at De Panne Station and finished at the shelter at Zwin at 13:28 the next day, which resulted in an overall time of 14 hours and 35 minutes. Running at night for the first half made the summer temperatures and reduced wind more bearable. Also benefitted from the almost full moon. Moving in Backyard pace, i.e., each hour at least 6.71km, using the breaks to relax and/or to hike on.
Path - Followed the red-yellow trial markings, some parts are different to the official GPX track from the GR website. Good timing to catch the first ferry at Oostende at 6.30 but decided to not take it to honor the fully unsupported effort. Going from De Panne to Knokke was a good choice to do most of the soft and sandy hills in the beginning.
Nutrition - I took plenty of nuts, cheese, butter, steak, dried sausages, and dark chocolate with me. I initially had 3 liters of water with me, but did a lot of refilling at public water taps along the way. There were more taps in the first half thought.
Addon - After the Streek GR Kust, I continued to the Dutch border to connect it with the French border and to fully having crossed all of Belgium - thanks to Harry van Lenthe (the current FKT holder for the self-supported run) for the inspiration for this addition!
