I went into this run primarily braced for torrential downpours the entire day, as predicted in the weather for the past week. Man, did I get lucky!!! Overcast, plenty of wind (lots of headwind the second half), but NO RAIN. Wahoo!! Started right at Nesoddtangen Brygge after disembarking from the ferry, and stopped right at Aker Brygge exactly where I originally got on the ferry to journey to the start point. (And then I jumped in the fjord.) Only had to make one very minor detour from the original route upon entering the city due to construction, but it was irrelevant to distance since it was merely a matter of going further down the block before making a turn and then I was right back on the course. I wish I had known beforehand that half of the route is running on the (non-existent) shoulder of some small, twisty country roads with terrible visibility. I'm glad I was wearing bright orange. Just to stay alert and prepare to dive off to the side -- drivers tried to give extra space, but it was scary on some of the very tight turns coming off the peninsula. The second part of shoulder-running had much better visibility and significantly less traffic. For anyone else who tries this, I spotted portable toilets at the lovely park between Mile 22 and Mile 23 but not sure if they're available year-round, and nothing else until in Oslo proper where pay-to-use public toilets are available at a couple points. Didn't find any natural or public places to refill water, but the routes passes a few gas stations, grocery stores, and kiosks. I carried everything I needed with me and it all turned out to well! Very pleased!
