On Wednesday May 28th 2025 I ran the Greenstone Ridge Trail unsupported from the Windigo dock to the Rock Harbor dock, finishing in 11 hours, 2 minutes and 1 second.
While the day was initially forecasted to be cloudy, it was a hot, bluebird day with no breeze. I'm not sure what the high temp was, but on the exposed parts of the ridge and in the forest it was incredibly hot and dry. I have never done a sustained effort in these kinds of conditions before, so I learned a lot!
Due to uncertainty about water supply, I started with 3L, and topped off some more from a creek at miles 5, 10.5, and 20.5.
I had trouble keeping my legs moving in the second half due to the heat. Though I missed my goal time by over an hour, I'm still happy to have shaved down the time by an hour. Should another gal come along and want to tighten up this time, feel free to reach out with questions on the route or logistical planning.
