After making 3 wrong turns just to get on the highway, we knew it was going to be an interesting day. It's a good thing the trail was much better marked. We started at the GA/NC border in the pouring rain and ended at the GA/SC border in the scorching heat (Georgia summer in a nutshell) passing thru the second highest peak in Georgia, Rabun Bald, and navigating thru lots of down trees, overgrown trails and mud to our ankles! Along the way were several beautiful vistas and waterfalls to make this adventure so breathtaking.
Congrats guys! I have been thinking about doing the full thru hike and attempting a FKT. I would love to get some input from you guys if you didn't mind. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org if you don't mind sending me an e-mail with your contact info. Thanks, Joe
