Started at sunrise (5:30am) from North to south. The trailhead to the north is marked and starts from the parking lot at rising corner. My boyfriend, Mickey, dropped me off at the start and manned three aid stations - the first on Wintonbury Road at the north end of Penwood, the second on Old Mountain Road after the trail exists the W Hartford reservoir, and the third at Rogers Orchard. Each stop I refueled and changed socks/shoes. At the end of the long stretch on edgewood road and before the climb to West Peak, I picked up my pacer, Tom, who got me through the last 10+ miles and brought me Pringles and a ginger beer. Weather was perfect, high in the high 50s and a few light sprinkles. Finished orchard road dumps into the 5, near a little cemetery just as the sun was setting, around 8.
