This was such an incredible day! After completing the Lone Pine, summit and back down FKT a few years ago, I didn't think it would be possible to try just the top part because it's a really strong FKT. While training for some fall races, I decided it would be a blast to get back into the swing of more mountainous adventures. While this was definitely not the perfect run on this, with some nav errors and just moving pretty cautiously on the downhill and in the couloir, was stoked to take just a little time off the women's efforts. I took off around 7:50ish and touched the plaque just a few seconds behind Trish's time. I tried my best to move efficiently and safely on the downhill, but there is definitely still time to take on this! It was a beautiful and toasty day and I'm so grateful for the safe passage on a mountain I love.
