This running adventure along the Florida Trail took 45days and 8hours.  I was supported by my Crew Chief and life partner, Dani Rohr, who drove the Skoolie we converted into our support vehicle.  Our trek went along the Western Corridor, a path slightly longer than the standard eastern trail. I ran an average of a marathon a day at varying paces depending on terrain, water on trail or excruciating pain. I started each day at the same spot I finished the day before.  Logistics of getting the bus in and out of access points proved to slow down our efforts, in that we couldn’t just wake up and run.  Some nights, our parking spot or campground was many miles away.
Dani would drive the bus to a midday meeting spot for my resupply and lunch.  Breakfast and dinners were prepared and eaten on the bus before and after each day. When available, Dani would find a safe spot to park and run portions of the trail with me.
I suffered from shin splints in the left leg, a breakthrough COVID bout that forced me to take 3 zero days, a bruised rib from fall #14 when I fell on my inReach that was in my vest pocket (duh…and ouch) and shin splints in my right leg with under 200 miles to go.  Sounds fun, huh?  Well, it was the time of my life and I plan to do it again!!
