Wonderful loop around the city of Meran following the typical “Waalweg” (waterways) small water channels for the farmers.
3 main loops going into the 3 valleys around Meran, Val Adige, Val Passiria and Val Venosta
I went alone, tracks are safe and in case of problems you can always go down to a village and find a bus to bring you back
i got water always on free taps, just went once to a Conad store in Postal to get water and some bread but other wise I’ve done the track unsupported
Super runnable trails (maybe even too much to run for me), I think that an Elite athlete can easily go sub 7 hours
No trouble to follow the track had only some problem 5km from the finish line because the trail was supposed to be closed due to forest work but luckily it was 6pm on Friday so there was no one working at the moment, just lost some time to scramble on the cutted trees that cancelled the trail
The route can be done almost all year long, thanks to climate change it’s really hard to find snow, problem in winter can just be the few sun hours. I also used headlamp almost 1 hour in the morning and 30 min in the evening
