Headed out from Salt Lake for a quick 24 hours in the Rubies!

Caroline and I started at 6:06 am from the Harrison Pass trailhead and headed north. We watched the sunrise on the dirt road and met up with the single track around mile 3. We descended into our first canyon and met a ton of overgrowth. While the wet year thankfully gave us more water opportunities than we anticipated, we ended up bushwhacking for several miles until the climb into Overland Lake. It was a warm and dry day out and we were stoked to filter a couple of liters of water once we got to the lake. We climbed back up another pass and linked up with some wide open ridge lines, where we climbed and descended several times over the rolling hills. My favorite part of the day was definitely coming into up to Liberty Lake and over the pass. The paintbrushes were blooming everywhere and the scenery was beautiful! We descended for the last time and were relieved by the flowy single track back to the parking lot. We got to the finish after 9 hours and 9 minutes. Thank you so much to our friend Colin who shuttled us today and welcomed us back at the finish! Lovely day out in a very underrated range.
