Brothers, Elias and Anthony Groft ran together on the Leconte Tour route set by David Worth and repeated by Luke Bollschweiler. We hit the weather jackpot. Trailhead temps were in the 40s/50s and summit temps were near freezing with a light breeze and tons of sun. Trails were in near perfect conditions but pack with hikers as can be expected on a holiday weekend.
Staging a car for the shuttle at Alum proved to be the biggest logistics hurdle. In addition to the resupply of water and fuel picked up from the shuttle, a water resupply was also staged at Rainbow Falls Trailhead as the water at the Leconte Lodge had been turned off for the season.
