I hiked this route a little over a year ago and always wanted to come back to run it. Easy canyons with enough techy/rocky footing and obstacles to make it fun.
I got to the trailhead a bit later than expected. I knew I'd be running some of it in the dark but chose to go forward anyway. The thought of running a canyon in the dark sounded alluring and a little creepy, so why not?
Started my watch at 3:41 pm, and watched the sun set during the two mile section between canyons. I almost made it through Chute canyon without a headlamp!
I ran the road section in the dark and I'm pretty sure I got hissed at by a mountain lion about a mile from the finish but I never saw it. Ran the last mile with a large rock in my hand!
