Starting at the southern entrance of Shaver Pond Rd, I headed towards Dunham Reservoir first because that section was unknown to me. The beginning parts of yellow trail had very tall grasses with not many blazes. The red trail was better marked. The orange trail was the wettest of the day. It also had several downed trees.
Once the Dunham loop was done I headed back into the park on the main road. Running past the main entrance gate on a sunny holiday weekend, nobody said a word. The pale green blazed trail was so overgrown and the painted blazes were terrible to see. A little road running to get to the red trail (Spruce Bog); lots of rocks and roots here. Getting to the blue trail (Little Johnny's) I knew I was in the final stretch. This was probably my favorite section. Too bad the legs were tired. A final few turns and I was done. Fabulous morning for a run!
