What a beautiful day to run! I decided to do this supported because there were some people from the local run club who were using the route for other virtual races they needed to complete and wanted to run with me. I started in Great Falls and ran southbound to Occoquan Regional Park. The weather was stunning, albeit a little chilly at the start. And the trails were a little muddy at parts but not too terrible. My husband met me along the route with water and gatorade, and he even dropped my dog off for about a 13-mile stretch. I had completely forgot to eat breakfast beforehand and only had three protein bars while running. Overall it was a great Saturday for a 40.5 mile run. Maybe one day I'll try running it northbound!
