FKT: Becca Windell - High Divide Loop (ONP, WA) - 2020-09-19

Adding a women's time to the mix! There was a light rain falling all day, so didn't get a chance to glimpse any of the promised killer views, but trail was amazing and fun nonetheless. Starting up the trail to Deer Lake was rocky and rooty but once past the lake and on the High Divide the trail was very smooth and fast. Looking at the previous trip reports black bears seem like a staple sighting, and the sow I saw munching huckleberries kept this trend alive. Past Heart Lake the trail gets very rocky and rooty again and was pretty slick in some spots with the rain. The final several miles on the Sol Duc trail are again smooth and fast. Very enjoyable loop and I look forward to doing it again with clear skies.
