This is a lovely route and as easy as it gets using public transport - Norwich station to Great Yarmouth station.

The bustle of Norwich city centre quickly is replaced with rolling Norfolk countryside and riverbanks.

Bits were very muddy and slippery after the recent snow and ice, mostly very runnable though.

Set off to do this with a friend who unfortunately started having pain in their back near Loddon, where they were forced to stop. Carried on solo from just before the sugar factory.

Hear Hardley there was a detour due to collapsed bridges and the footpath was closed by the council. This added about 1km to the route.

Topped up with water from the outside tap at the Holy Trinity church in Loddon (tap is on left by the entrance from the car park)

Reached Reedham ferry just as it got dark. Badly timed as it’d just left for the other side! Bargain at 50p though, I had it to myself once I finally got on!

The final 17k to Yarmouth was along riverbanks, dodging the soft ground of the molehills (so many molehills…) and running through thick fog. It was pitch black and not a light or sound, except the occasional rustle in the reeds and a birds call.

Eventually reached the end at Great Yarmouth station and with half an hour before my train, treated myself to a McPlant and a few bits from Asda.

Lovely route, looking forward to doing this again soon! Thanks for reading
