After pacing Adam Kimble on his supported FKT around Lake Tahoe two days before I was feeling a little inspired to give this route in my backyard a go. I've been meaning to do it since it was created but I never really felt fit enough to give it an honest effort. I still didn't feel fit enough but figured I could at least set the fastest time.
It was really hot which are not ideal conditions. Since the route is short I chose to not bring water. The actual run was pretty uneventful except for stepping right over a rattlesnake on the ascent which made me pause to make sure it left the trail. This also made the descent through this section a little scary.
I'll run it again when it's cooler.
