All on foot with support & pacers on part.
My first foray into 50+ mile distances, and first run/race/effort over 10 hours in length. The scouting and planning paid off big time today, as there were no surprises and no lost time to routefinding (except for a little bit coming down the southwest ridge off Heinen, due to the heavy storm the day before washing away some sections of trail). Started at exactly 8:00 AM on Friday, May 1, from the Cottonwood Creek Road just north of the Cottonwood Trailhead. Summited Mt. Heinen at 9:04 AM, 1:04 into the effort. Signed the summit book, then dropped down the southwest ridge and ran down the road to the main Cervidae Peak trailhead. Summited Cervidae via the "standard" route, reaching the top at 11:50 AM and signing into the summit book. I then descended via the western approach, dropping down to Highway 21, and heading up the highway to the Adelmann Mine Trail. I summited Lucky Peak via the same trail, reaching the top at 2:15 PM, 6 hours 15 minutes in. Dropped back down to Highway 21 via the Ridge Road, then headed down to and across the dam. Once across, I made my way to Bonneville Point and headed up Black's Creek Road toward the Three Point Mountain trailhead. The final push up to Kepros Mountain got me to the top at 8:16 PM, 12:16 after starting my day. I got back to the final trailhead and stopped my watch at 9:31 PM. Total time was 13 hours, 31 minutes, just shy of 56 miles and 13,000' of elevation gain.
