Note that this outing was done a few months before the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster, and so well before Challenger Point was added to the list of 14ers.  So, Bill did not summit Challenger Point.  However, he did ascend Crestone Needle via the challenging Ellingwood Arete (YDS 5.7).  Starting and finishing at South Colony Lakes, splits:  Crestone Needle 3:00 (with partner Larry Graham), Crestone Peak 4:20 (rescued two hikers), Kit Carson 7:20, Humboldt 9:05, South Colony Lakes 9:45
