On May 2nd 2023 I set out on a self supported effort to set the Fastest Known Time for the Calendar Year Triple Crown. While I was aiming to set the FKT, I was well aware that Cam "Squami" Honan completed the CYTC in 236 days in 2012. A time faster than both the listed supported and self supported FKTs on this website, so that was the time I was aiming to break. On 12/22/23 I completed my CYTC when I arrived at Springer Mountain after completing 7,514 miles in 234 days 9hrs 55min 18sec. I was hoping to complete all three trails in one continuous stretch, but with the highest snow year on record in the Sierra, I opted to flip from the PCT to the CDT to allow the snow to melt in late May and got back on the PCT in August. I averaged 32 miles/day and 5,556ft of elevation gain/day to set the record, taking a total of four "zero days" along the way.
