It was a beautiful full-day running adventure filled with rewarding experience and beautiful views. Some highlights were
- Starting in Ljubljana at night after some chatting with homeless and night birds,
- Experiencing sun rising from behind the Kamnik-Savinja Alps,
- Running through centres of awakening towns Kranj, Naklo, Radovljica and Lesce,
- Morning run below the beautiful Bled castle,
- Catching up with Triglav hikers,
- Meeting some ibexes and chamois near the path and
- Breathing in the full 360 views from the top of Slovenia.
Unsupported running style required some planning (e.g. studying water fountain locations near the path) and innovation (e.g. cramming my trail running shoes to the running vest after stuffing them with energy gels and bars). From Triglav I ran back and finished the day with Ljubljana-Triglav-Lesce (then took the train), thinking what it would take to run the extended challenge of aller-retour Ljubljana-Triglav-Ljubljana.
