FKT: Brad Harris - San Jacinto Peak (CA) - 2014-10-14

This was a solo effort on a mostly off-trail, yet popular route.  I chose to do this in late summer when the snow had mostly melted off.  I parked my close in the little town of snow creek.  At the end of the water conservancy road, I followed the goat trails through the scrub oak up to the chockstone.  I bypassed the chockstone by scrambling up through the bushes to the right.  From there it was a scramble up a mixture of scree and boulders for the second half of the climb.  The had to reference my GPS often as the gullies on the way up can be confusing and many have required rescue by helicopter in this area.  All in all a very iconic route with heavy dose of adventure!
