January 9th, 2026 I was on Grand Manan Island for a tourism work trip. I had heard rumours of how beautiful the Lighthouse Trail was so I decided I see it for myself. After looking at a local map of the trail, I suddenly noticed that the Hiking NB website was missing a section. This gave me all the more reason to get a good gps file of the full route therefore I set out from the Swallowtail Lighthouse at 7:42am. The views were magnificent and arguably the best in the province. I came into the Southwest Head Lighthouse with a total elapsed time of 7 hours 15 minutes and 58 seconds and was enjoying my day so much that I decided to continue onto the Flock of Sheep trail to get in some extra kms. Although this wasn’t my quickest run, I had an amazing time on these trails and am proud to set the bar for the Fastest Known Time on this hidden gem on the East Coast!
