Luke and I ran the route together starting at the Dry River Trail head on route 302 and running down the road to the Davis Path Trail head to get the road out of the way first. Then we traversed the entire length of the Davis Path including taking all the short spur trails to the summits along the way (Crawford, Stairs, Davis and Isolation). Water was available for filtering along the way if desired and at the Lake of the Clouds hut. What an amazing trail right through the heart of the wilderness.
The Dry River trial is not heavily used in the section from lake of the clouds down to the shelter, but was still easy to follow. From that point on it is mostly runable with the exception of some of the reroutes around wash out areas on the river. It was a great loop with good views, low traffic and loads of elevation for the mileage.
