It went great, even though I was soaked the entire time and fell a few times on wet rocks and boardwalks. I ran by myself, carried almost all the supplies that I consumed, but I did refill water with drop bags that I stashed before the run (next time, I’m going to go for the unsupported record because there was plenty of water to refill with, but this was my first ever ultramarathon distance). I did pack food in the drop bag, but I found it incredibly hard to eat, especially with the humidity and heat of Massachusetts summers. I beat the thunderstorms back to safety and broke the women’s record on my first attempt!!
I couldn’t have done it without the encouragement and training guidance from my friend, Rufus Chaffee. Thanks for being an enabler ?.
It’s what I do.
