Quite a few months ago we decided to do this route for our 10yr wedding anniversary, which fell exactly on this day! Both grandmas agreed to come watch our girls for the weekend and we booked our trip! I had hoped it would be a fun route, but this was freaking amazing. We had perfect weather, saw 1 bear and 1 elk, and had wild blueberries over the whole trail! We did one water filter at the carbon river. We power hiked all the climbs and the descents were very runnable. All in all a perfect day.
