I began at 6:00 AM Saturday May 6 at the trailhead sign, and ended 6:00 AM May 7. I completed 15 climbs, reaching the sign for the last time at 23 hours and 52 minutes. Each repetition of the peak, I would begin at the trailhead sign next to the fence, summit, tap the flag pole, and descend all the way back to the trailhead sign (I decided that starting at the actual sign/fence felt more legitimate than starting at the wooden post at the base, even though it added a bit each time). This was my first time at a 24 hour endeavor, and I found it to be an extremely cool experience. The first 9 climbs of the mountain were alone, then for 5 of the remaining 6 (during the night) I had different friends join. I kept a ben of snacks hidden by the trailhead sign, so I rarely stopped for more than 5 minutes at the bottom. I made some amazing memories, learned a ton about longer endurance endeavors (before this I had only done a few 50 mile ultras that had me on trail around 10 hours so this was a different animal!), and had a great time. This was a tough but awesome day. It has been a dream of mine to be able to upload something to this website for a while now, I'm pretty stoked. Very thankful for family and friends who supported!
