Report

Friday night and throughout Saturday, I went on a solo journey run from Sarnia to Windsor, from Bridge-2-Bridge. Here’s my “Run Report”:
.
- Started by taking the wrong path, had to circle back and start over.
- The smell of gas was overwhelming for the first 6-7 miles.
- The homes and docks along the St Clair River are beautiful.
- Sunset was amazing.
- Mile 18 and stomach goes south.
- Chased by a “crazy person” in Wallaceburg.
- Near dog attack. Scolded him and he stopped.
- Scolded another dog. Pricks.
- Took a 3.5hr rest trying to get my stomach right.
- Resupplied with a cache I stored in Wallaceburg.
- Windmills make very strange noises. Creepy in the dark.
- I love strawberry drumsticks.
- German Shepherds hate me. Scolded him too.
- It’s so damn hot.
- The road thru Jeanette’s Creek is awesome for driving, but not for running.
- Popsicles in Stoney Point.
- 1.5hr break in Belle River. Was melting.
- “I’m gonna death march this thing to the finish.”
- Dr. Pepper slushie.
- “Hey, I can run again!”
- Stopping never felt so good.
.
103 miles, self-supported, in 29hrs 23min. Thanks for all the well wishes, comments of support, wise-ass comments and good ol’ trash-talking. I appreciate them all.

I have a lot more pictures, but the FKT site is not allowing me to upload them. Carried all my fluids and food from the start to my cache in Wallaceburg and then again to another cache in Belle River. Along the way I was also able to use a couple convenience stores.

It was a tough challenge, especially with the heat and full exposure to sun with very little shade and tough roads dealing with traffic and thick, gravel shoulders. However, there were beautiful sites a long the way!
