Early morning on Sunday I started the Jacob Van Maerlant route at the famous statue in front of the town hall under beautiful blue skies. My family came to see me along the route a couple of times (hence supported category).
This was my first attempt at a route longer than marathon distance. The pace faded away on the last miles of route, especially in the head wind.
This course is scenic, but flat and very wind sensitive.
I arrived back at the statue in a bit more than 5hours. Happy with my first FKT !
