After scouting this route many times, I had a great experience going for the full FKT! I'd supported my sister a year ago getting the women's supported FKT, and she and my brother-in-law, River, returned the favor, giving my bottles and ice at the gate and on the road.
I invited the unsupported record holder, Eric Wesolowski, to start at the same time and make it more of a race situation, but he wasn't able to join due to a hamstring strain, but I'd imagine he could challenge my time with similar support!
Conditions were great. It was the least muddy I've seen it near the top and the boardwalks weren't as overgrown as I've seen in previous years.
