7:50AM start
This is the 3rd time I visit this trail. It's one of those "trails" that requires familiarity because it's ruthless. I tried to run as much as I could, but the undulating terrain, and route finding make it hard.
I couldn't beat the temps though. I started with my puffy coat at 0C, but within a couple of hours, I removed it as the temperature hit a high of 17C.
Some adventures don’t come with a clear path, just blazes on trees and the trust that you’re still headed the right way. Thank goodness for gpx files!
Limited packed dirt, no footprints, just forest and a whole lot of vertical. The terrain rolled relentlessly, and every hill I crested gave way to another hidden dip, another scramble, another moment to question the route.
Following the blazes took constant attention...look up, scan, backtrack, repeat.
No trail? No problem. Makes the unsupported adventure that much more rewarding.

2025 is going to be a great year for adventures! I’m setting out to attempt 25 FKTs in 2025….pushing my limits, exploring new trails and chasing some records;
FKT #2 (with 1 failed double SCAR)
