Accomplished one of my bucket list goals today!!! ✔️ Perfect weather conditions for tackling the big loop at Algonquin Park’s Western Upland Trails!! The footing was a little tricky with all of the leaves down. I tripped a bunch of times, and fell a few more times than usual, but I walked away pretty much unscathed. I saw 22 hikers and one dog with their heavy backpacks, packed with gear for the weekend. This loop is typically traveled by hikers spending a few days traversing the terrain. It's no easy feat. With over 2,100m of ascending over roots, rocks and falling trees, I spent only 43 minutes of the 11 hours on "flat" ground according to my Suunto. I highly recommend taking the drive North to discover this Provincial Park. It's absolutely gorgeous. I didn't have any issue finding water sources, at this time of year.
