Cyrus and I started at the Jubilee Pool in Penzance at just gone 6am, we decided to run the loop clockwise and so headed West towards Mousehole.
On the whole the coast path was pretty dry despite all the rain we’d had the day before; the wettest section probably being between Mousehole and Penberth, although I’d say it was pretty dry in comparison to what it’s like in the winter.
To keep ourselves sufficiently fuelled throughout the day we’d placed drop bags with food and water the day before, these were strategically placed at Penberth, Cape Cornwall, Zennor & Ludgvan, roughly 10-15miles between each one. We definitely underestimated the heat and found ourselves running out of water a couple of miles from each drop bag; in hindsight we should’ve left water around Lands End and Morvah as well.
A great day out and we couldn’t have picked a nicer day to see that coastline in all its glory.
