Seeing the previous FKT was a great motivation. Even though I had never climbed the mountain before, this mountain is so aesthetic that I had to climb it and try to beat the record. As always solo and without external support.
I looked at the route on the FKT website and it looked good, but when I got to the place I saw that many cows and guanacos inhabit much of the lower and middle mountain so you could hardly differentiate one track from another. There were many trails that crossed each other. So I followed my own line, the one that seemed most obvious and made sure to start and finish at the same point as the previous FKT, whose starting point is next to the vehicle road.
There are a couple of false summits beforehand and a lot of wind on the summit ridge with condors gliding. The 360 degree view is magical and you can see the Torres del Paine massif in the distance.
The descent is by the same trail but you can do some more direct variants with a steeper slope.
There is no water on the whole trail.
