I completed a solo, self supported round trip hike of Jamacho from the main entrance gate of Jamacho Gumba to the summit viewpoint and back. I followed the standard hiking route for the majority of the climb. In a few short sections, I briefly stepped off the established trail immediately adjacent to it to maintain a direct line, rejoining the main trail within a short distance each time. I carried all food and water from the start and did not resupply during the effort. No one accompanied me for any portion of the route. Navigation was straightforward, and conditions were dry with good visibility. Time was recorded continuously from the entrance gate to the summit viewpoint and back. GPS data from my watch is provided to verify the route and effort.
