The trail begins from the main entrance gate of Jamacho Gumba (Monastery) in Nagarjun Forest also called the Fulbari Gate, Kathmandu. From the gate, enter into the primary stone stairway and established footpath that goes all the way up through the dense forest to the Monastery.
The route generally follows the standard hiking trail. In a few short sections, minor off-trail deviations were taken adjacent to the main trail to maintain a direct line and . These deviations remain parallel to the established route and rejoin it within a short distance. No major shortcuts, bushwhacking, or alternate routes were used.
Continuing past two rest platforms, the route stays straight on main ascent into the Jamacho summit, marked with prayer flags/open clearings. FKT time is taken from the monastery entrance gate to the summit Monastery (highest point).
