On December 26, 2023 I set off for the Lincoln Woods trailhead and had trail runners on the ground by 3:50am. I started with 2.5 liters of water. I grabbed another liter from the spring near the Garfield campsite. On my way down from Bondcliff, I grabbed one additional liter in the Black Brook. I ran alone the entire time. I didn't see another soul until about 19 miles in at the summit of Mt Bond, which was my 7th peak of the morning. I ate 3 Gu's and 2 Protein bars. I completely binged over the holidays and was more disgustingly full than any runner should ever be. I start and finished at my car in a time of 8 hours, 40 minutes and 18 seconds. Still reeling from the feelings.

Thanks and have a great day.

This is so rad! Congrats, Chris! On Saturday, I took the winter FKT after it had lied dormant for a year. I intended to hike the trail and happened to check the FKT record the night before. I was surprised to see no one had challenged the 2022 record of over 16 hours. I’m not a longtime runner but have hiked the Pemi in other seasons so I thought I could beat the record - and I did. I’m stoked to get on the board for a trail I love so much, and even more excited that someone came in right after my effort to properly trim the record. Your effort is something to be proud of especially given how variable the conditions were (snow, ice, bare rocks and mud). Congrats!
