I ran the route in the west to east direction, starting in Ballyporeen and finishing in Goatenbridge. The first half of the route was unkown to me so a few navigational errors meant I lost time during the first 15km. The route overall was so enjoyable. There was everything from open mountain, blanket bogs, sheep trails, hiking trails to country lanes. The views from the top of the Knockmealdowns was well worth the long steep hike up.
