Solo unsupported run along the length of the Regent's Canal.
Parts of the tow path can get busy so I started at 9am on 31st December, and the route and conditions were perfect for running: not busy but also not completely isolating (which is important to me as a solo female runner, especially along canals), and cold but with blue sky and sunshine! An added bonus of this time of year is seeing dogs in Christmas jumpers!
I took a bus to nearby the start point (as I live almost at the mid-point of the route), it was 1ºC at the start and temperatures were forecast to rise only a few degrees so I carried a running pack for my warm layers for before and after. The end is close to a DRL station to get home. I also carried a drink and some snacks in my pack.
I had the route on my watch although I knew it well having run sections of it many times before. For anyone not familiar with it, the only slightly tricky bits are where the canal goes underground and you have to navigate through a couple of streets.
Overall a great run and a nice way to end 2025.
