I parked at Chapman Landing and ran the out and back version of the Crown Zellerbach trail, turning around at Vernonia Lake. I ran self-supported, stashing a cooler at Floeter TH ahead of time with water and nutrition. I ran with 2L of water/Gnarly in my vest, Gu gels, and an orange, then did a full resupply at miles 16.5 and 30 at Floeter. I ate watermelon and drank coke/water when I stopped there. I had the route on my watch, but had also run all the sections before.

My run went smoothly most of the day. The whole trail is stunningly green and peaceful, especially as it peels away from the road. I had mild and cloudy weather, but it was also mostly shaded by the tree canopy. There were no bathrooms between Ruley TH and Vernonia Lake and I had to stop a few times both out and back due to minor stomach issues. I found the paved section by Holce TH to be a brutal downhill (it sounds like this used to be rockier). Overall, it was a dope adventure.
