Description

The Crown Zellerbach (a.k.a. Crown Z) Trail is a former railroad line that ran timber and supplied work camps in the rural areas of Columbia County that connects to the Banks-Vernonia State Trail in Vernonia. The trail starts in Scappoose on the Multnomah Channel at Chapman Landing and transverses through the forested areas of Columbia County to Vernonia Lake, at the Vernonia Lake Trailhead. The Crown Z Trail is a partially paved, partially gravel linear trail. As a former logging line, it never gets too steep, but does wind its way through some beautiful forest. Most one-way runners choose to go from Vernonia to Scappose for their FKT attempts.

I am attempting the one way unsupported FKT on the CZ trail on 5/29/21. I will be starting at Vernonia Lake and running to Chapman Landing in Scappoose.
