What an adventure! This is a deceptively technical route that starts easy and gets more and more difficult. We ended up in several pools of water up to our waists. The final one that goes slightly under the big chalk stone was the scariest. After that the hard part is over with! On the way back up unfortunately we were cruising on the dirt road and missed the turn for wolverine canyon, adding four miles to our route. So our time is probably at least 45 minutes slower than it would have been otherwise but we didn’t see any mixed gender teams have tried this so wanted to submit our time anyways! I would highly recommend doing the route in the direction described and taking care not to miss any turns once on the return through Wolverine canyon. Trekking poles also helped us gauge how deep some of the pools were since we couldn’t see the bottom.
