I went for the unsupported record, starting and ending from the south side of the Kuebler Trail tunnel. I carried 2.5 L of water and refilled 1 L at the public library around mile 29. The 1st mile or so was beautiful singletrack, though it also included a tall-grass field, so I was soaking wet from morning dew. After the single track, the route is a wide dirt road along the west and southern ends of the island. Sometime around mile 23 on the east side, the road became paved and continued that way into town on the northeast end of the island. The north side was a dedicated bike path before picking up another dirt road and finally ending on the single track. Other than the 4 miles or so on asphalt, the entire route was shaded and beautiful in the early morning.
