Took the bus to the start in Doesburg on Friday the 15th of July. Started at 9:45 and ran the first circa 75 kilometers by myself. I got some groceries in the city center of Deventer to refill my backpack. According to the official route I took both ferry crossing (circa 1 euro each). At the 75 kilometer point Erik waited the RV in which we had some warm soup before darkness would fall. He joined the run from that point onwards and was at home before. Erik ran with me during the night section until the finish in Kampen. Took a powernap of circa 15 minutes during the entire route. During the night we had some rain but overall the weather was good. The route was very beautiful and mostly followed the river. There were only a few hikers on the route. Many historical buildings and castles could be seen. Overall, I can highly recommend this route ! A perfect mixture between nature and impressive cities. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions or consider running it!
