Started at 8:15 from the marketplace in Bonn on the 17th of December. I was staying nearby and I found this route that was uploaded a year earlier by someone else on the FKT website. I was also drawn to the amount of heightmeters as there was plenty of climbing and descending. It is the first part of the Rheinsteig. Perhaps, one of the best marked trails in the world. I was very impressed by the clear route instructions on trail and never had such an experience before. The weather was good, no freezing temperatures but there was a lot of mud on the single trails, as to be expected around this time of the year. I finished in Linz am Rhein. I can highly recommend this route to anyone who wants to experience the Steig, but is not around long enough to do it in one push (such as was my case).
