Cracking on with the national trails.

Glyndwr's Way is an awesome trail. Remote, beautiful scenery and plenty of hills. The constant rolling vallys of mid Wales make for great running. Well signed throughout and very untrodden - I think we saw two walkers for the entire route. Patches of bog, overgrown in a few parts and plently of gates but on the whole very runnable. I'd strongly recommend it.

I started at 7am on Saturday solo from Knighton. Early issues with the tracker meant the first hour or so were not recorded by the tracker but its all on the watch data (thanks to Chris from opentracking for remotely updating the tracker). Met Dan Weller around 60k in and he paced and put up with me in a bad mood with a dodgy stomach until 120k. Took a marked diversion alongside a reservoir around 87k in as the trail was closed due to an unsafe bridge. Mark Darbyshire joined at around 100k in until around 180k, again doing the night shift and again keeping things moving well through the night. Dan joined again after a sleep at around 190k until the end at 220k which was in Welshpool where we arrived at lunchtime on Sunday.

Dan and Mark - thanks again. Amazing pacing. Great company. Without you it was unachievable.

Thanks to Jack for setting a target. I was lucky with great conditions. A few hours of lightish rain on Saturday but generally very dry unerfoot. I'd guess that at times this trail could get much much slower in the rain.
